Challenge

Design an app that shows the highest quality content.

It should be available to over 300k subscribers — the most demanding users on a device they like the most.

Discovery

We started the project with an extensive discovery phase.

We decided to use mostly quantitative and qualitative research methods — Customer Interviews, Market Research Analysis, Customer Journey, User Testing, Google Analytics, and Hotjar data.

We had to learn more about the customers, their habits, their needs, and their struggles.

The modern mobile app

Content consumption away from the desktop is already huge and is still dynamically growing. Thanks to the comfortable reading of long articles with modern, minimal, and comprehensive, the new Gazeta Wyborcza is perfectly prepared for the oncoming changes.

A picture is worth a thousand words

You don't need to say much to say everything. The redesigned app gives the editors this opportunity.

A little learning is a dangerous thing

If the situation develops, the editor can combine all the related news into one great article.

Informative overview

The improved information architecture helps subscribers to distinguish between types of content.

Time is money

When the world is on fire, and the editor has to send a message quickly, he has a unique layout.

News is free

But there are some limits. The user will see how much free content is available.

Paywall

When the user reaches the limit of free content, he can choose a convenient subscription. The first two weeks are at our expense.

Column deserves a different setting

The longer content has a different setup. The editor can add related news, quotes, archives, opinions, not to keep it one-sided.

No content is created equally

That is why the editor can choose from many layouts so that the content is best presented.
